In a beautiful town at the outskirt of Seoul, a boy named Young-Ho lives. Yet, his tragedy begins when a disastrous car accident takes away the lives of his parents. He is soon adopted to the richest family in town but the frigid reception of his step parents are there to last. The only warm person to Young-Ho is his elder step brother, Min-Soo who was handsome and bright son of the family. Min-Soo secretely loved his chauffeur's daughter, Seung-Hae. Seung-Hae is beautiful and is urged to play piano because his father's dream is to maker her a pianist. One day Min-Soo asks Young-Ho to deliver Seung-Hae his parents. In Seung-Hae's room, Young-Ho repairs her record player and together that day, they listen to "Yesterday" of Beatles.
Seung-Hae at first, feels affection for Min-Soo because of his good looks and wealthy background but she cannot resist herself from being drawn towards Young-Ho, since he is the one she truely feels resemblance - they both have at the same time, heartburning eagerness and ranchor towards this world. Although she always dreams of climbing higher and higher, she knows that she is fatally shackled to Young-Ho.
Neverthless, Min-Soo cannot let go of Seung-Hae, and finally divulges a long hidden secret to Young-Ho. "It was Seung-Hae's father who drived the black limousine 19 years ago, the day your parents died!" Young-Ho frustrated, explodes his anger to Seung-Hae's father and the sorrowful destiny continues - Seung-Hae's father falls with heart attack and dies...
Seung-Hae, out of lamentation leaves to Germany to continue her career as a pianist. So, Min-Soo, Young-Ho and Seung-Hae are parted.
Three years pass by when Seung-Hae returns to Seoul to find Young-Ho already engaged to another woman who has loved him dearly for many years. But, at Seoung-Hae's reappearance, Youmng-Ho's heart is breaking into parts. He knows that he has not for a single moment erased Seung-Hae from his heart. The day before Young-Ho's wedding, Seung-Hae thinks that this 
is the last moment she can be true to herself and to Young-Ho. She firmly decides to confess to Young-Ho that her lover for him is deeper than any other love ever. But at the sight of Young-Ho escorting his fiancee out of the wedding dress shop, she steps back and fades away.
Young-Ho, on the other hand cannoy let go ofhis feeling for Seung-Hae. After mental agony, he tells his fiancee that his only love is Seung-Hae and that he willl not be able to lead a happy marriage with her. But his misfortune leads with finding her having an accidental fall. As she struggles for recovery, Young Ho and Seung0Hae recounter. Young-Ho's head is all muddled up since the night before his step father died, he has confessed to Young-Ho that it was himself that killed Young-Ho's parents, not Seung-Hae'sfather. he had camaflaged his drunk driving since it was surely crucial for his political life. Young-Ho realizes that love and hatred is two faces of one being.
